Michel Boccara
OverviewMichel is a visiting Scientist at CRC from the ”Centre de Coopération Internationale de Recherche Agronomique pour le Développement” (CIRAD, France). He is leading the research team of CRC's Bio-molecular Section conducting studies on cocoa trees identification with molecular markers, genetic diversity and candidate gene identification.
Areas of expertise, interest/specialties
• DNA fingerprinting of cocoa trees accessions
• Assessment of genetic diversity of ICG,T collection
• Development of new bio-molecular techniques for tree identification: SNP markers, CAPS
• Gene identification for quality traits
• Development of a pollen conservation technique
